to qin and kat who don't know:

today after the bbq aft qin left, the rest of us planned a big project. we wanted to find a place where we can all hang out when we don't have anywhere to go. remember we discussed about the 'lao di fang' before? after some debated discussion we decided to "take" my old house, the one my parents haven't sold yet. the one i used to live in about 5 years ago.

basically we want to be able to hang out there frequently. we want to 'renovate' the place; 1) clear it up, 2) paint the walls, 3) bring in stuff. we considered the rent, the electricity, and the water bills. max $80 per person per month.

but of course, all that might not be necessary. my dad once said that it'd be nice if i gather my friends and go there, clean up the place, and then have a party there once in a while. so it might work out without us having to rent the place after all.

initially we considered renting because we wanted to shop for furniture and all that. but realistically, the nus ppl most prob staying in hostel, and moo and kat will be going overseas for about 3-4 years for further education. so it might not be financially feasible to rent.

also, issues we need to consider include, whether it's even legal for us to rent an apartment, and for how long will my parents or the area committee let us rent it.

btw the place is opp PL, now called minton rise.

what i think is, most prob we'll only need to pay electricity and water bills, if we want frequent stay. the worst thing is really the CLEAN-UP.

i'll approach my dad tomorrow and ask. then i'll do a report here. even if cannot rent long-term, or stay long-term, or hang-out long-term, we can still visit the place next wednesday afternoon.

so, there will be a HOUSE VISIT next wednesday, 28th June, meet at opp cherry hill bus stop at 1pm, we have lunch at the hawker nearby, then walk over.

one thing i forgot to mention to all is, my dad takes TIME to think. he's old. both my parents can take up to a week to consider an issue. and even then they might forget. don't worry i'll make sure i keep reminding them. the thing is, the answer may take ages to come. but whatever the case i think we'll still be able to check the house out. oh yeah, and another strong argument my dad may use is that he doesn't want to hold responsibility for all of u guys in the event anything happens. i know ur parents may not blame him or anything, but he will definitely think so. so i'll approach him just saying we hang out there, but not stay there overnight or indefinitely or whatever. though i think if the place is clean enough (we must let him spot check) he might let us stay over once in a while. yeah.
